Google announced in the finding more mobile-friendly search results blog post that they would be “expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal“.
The change will “affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results”
In a nutshell, Google is making it clear that going forward sites that don’t present a mobile version will be degraded in the search results.
