A simple full-stop on the second line could give you a higher ClickThrough Rate.
If your Google ads are displaying in the top 3 positions, then chances are you could be making more of the title line.
Google will now try to fit your title and 1st description onto one line. A dash is added between the two lines, so titles and descriptions still don’t neatly run into a sentence, but it is an opportunity to add your keyword again, with a strong call to action.
Here are a few tips on how to optimise your ads for this…
- Play around and write out your title and first line description out until you are happy with the message searchers will see
- You can also work directly with the advert editor in the Adwords interface to preview how it will look.
- Most importantly – Ensure your 1st description ends with a full stop. This is the only way Google knows how to de-lineate your ad copy.
I’m busying myself going through the existing adverts that I manage to see if there are improvements.
Then there’s always a/b testing – especially to see what impact the 2nd description line has!
Hope you found this tip useful.
