It seems like every ecommerce website would like you to share their products via Facebook and Twitter.
You often see ‘Facebook Like and’ Tweet’ buttons occuping valuable screen space which could be better used to help the sales of the product.
All of these sites could learn a simple yet very valuable lesson from Amazon.
They’ve realised that people don’t want to share a product when they are in the consideration / reasearch part of their journey.
Instead Amazon waits until after you paid for your goods and then make it very easy to share as you can see from the screenshot.
It should be a relatively simple process to build this into your checkout.
